I completely agree with that, especially in light of the context in which it has been composed and performed for the first time. Tchaikovsky - Violin Concerto in D major, Op. The first movement is the most romantic music in existence. It just doesn't get any better than that. I'd say Rachmaninoff Symphony No. I love Rach 2 so much.
And you can't go wrong with Brahms for romantic symphonies. I was also gonna say Rach 2 but I wasn't sure if he was
Most romantic classical music for pieces specifically from the romantic era- that 3rd movement tho is probably the most romantic piece of music ever. I agree with you, but I'd say replace the seventh with the fourth, especially the third movementI find the seventh a great work but a little raw for romance.
Depends on your definition. I heard a wonderful description from dudamel once describing the symphony as a chronology of life in all it's emotional nuance.
I haven't heard the 4th though so I should check that out. Without a doubt it's Brahms's Op. Although if we're going by single pieces alone, I would agree with you on Chopin's 4th ballade. Came here to say this one. Each piece is incredible by itself, but when played in the context of the entire opus they gain a whole new meaning.
I love the fourth ballade so much and hope to play it someday, too bad it is devilishly difficult. At the moment, I'd have to say the first movement of Tchaikovsky's fourth symphony. So incredibly inspired "Most romantic classical music" breathtaking A defining romantic piece.
The 20 Most Romantic Pieces...
Hmm I "Most romantic classical music" the answer is two-fold. It's romantic in that it's a work that has a lot of elements from the romantic era - for example, there's no double exposition that usually appears in classical concerti.
Also I may be wrong about thischronologically it appears as one of the first major Romantic piano concerti; because of this, it can be said that it influenced a lot of later works. Schumann uses an almost iconic V7-i opening that can be found in stuff by Grieg, Rachmaninov, and Tchaikovsky. The second part is the romantic "love" kind of aspect.
Clara was the one who influenced him to finish a previous work into the Concerto, and also was the one to premier it. Of course it does! Then again I would say Tristan and Isolde is a result of passion rather than romanticism in the second sense.
After all, it was inspired from an affair rather than a slow-burning love that I think is what defines romance again I find Wagner to be just as romantic of a composer if not more.
Either way, both are incredibly romantic and fits the bill nicely! They never know when to stop, and are specially ressented that Wagner never wrote a piano concerto aside from some useless piece of juvenilia. Regardless, the fugue is beautiful and very lovely to listen to.
The adagio affettuoso from Beethoven's String Quartet No. It's based on
Most romantic classical music tomb scene from "Romeo and Juliet. I would definitely say Prelude in E Minorby Chopin!
