Gauges, Electronics and Wiring. I know alot of people are skeptical about their performance or reliability and i wanted to start this thread so others have something to go by when they are in the market for a value priced winch whether it be good or bad. It will be put on a winch carrier mount to be used in the trucks receiver and the receiver I'm going to weld on the trailer.

I'll be putting the winch through it's paces as well as well as trying to improve it to ensure it's reliability and "Badland winch hook up." Out of the Box: After doing a good bit of reading on it with all the information i could find i began making improvements right out of the box.
I read that the bars will typically start rusting if left outside for about a year or so.

I took it upon
Badland winch hook up to go ahead and take car of that. I taped everything off and sprayed all of the bare and uncoated metal with Zinc Proof- an instant galvanizing compound that can be painted over. I did three solid coats of it then let dry for about 24 hours After the galvanized coating dried i hit it with a solid 3 coats of flat black to make it nice and presentable. Now I'm just waiting on the wiring leads to run from the front of the truck to the back to come in and the portable winch carrier for the rear reciever.
Subscribed for this one. I want to replace the overpriced superwinch 7K on my trailer. Originally Posted by pmulls View Post.

That said, if you aren't depending on the winch every time you get into the vehicle, why have all that money sitting there? OP, get going on this. I agree, this is the nervous part.
Thats where I am at. I have a receiver welded into the front of the trailer and another one welded into the shop crane. That is the only reason it ever moves.
Badland winch hook up WILL beat the shit out of it. Register Now
I'm going to be a test mule for this thing. Are there better electronics and components in higher priced winches? Can a cheaper alternative be made to do the same thing?

You winch might last forever that way. I use a block with that M from time to time Slows things down and offers extra control. Quote message in reply? Please enter your desired user name, your email address and other required details in the form below.

Note that passwords are case-sensitive. While it most likely would work, the Trailer and Vehicle Electric Winch Wiring Kit # SW has never been tested on your Badlands 12, winch so I could not.

There are a few different ways that you can wire up your Badlands Electric Winch to your truck, but I do not recommend using the trailer connector on your tow. Insulate all exposed wiring and terminals after installation. Install winch and fairlead in underwind orientation, so that the wire rope enters and exits the winch .
