Oct 13, Crista rated it it was amazing Shelves: Swept Away By Romance 5 stars! Bybee is a registered nurse as well an author, and her knowledge of the medical field is obvious in this book. My critical nature always takes me out of the story as Review posted at: This is the first contemporary romance that features a registered nurse and gets my unabashed seal of approval.

Although this book could be read as a standalone, it will mean more if read in order. The reading order is: Not Quite Dating 2. Not Quite Mine 3. Monica Mann has traveled to Jamaica in the wake of a horrible tsunami. "Not quite hookup by catherine bybee tuebl" island has been decimated and the casualties are mounting. She immediately boards a plane to join the relief effort as an experienced triage and ER trauma nurse. Trent Fairchild is a helicopter pilot who owns his own tourist company in Jamaica.

He has been living in Jamaica, running from a painful past.

As the pilot who first transports Monica to the makeshift hospital in Jamaica, the chemistry between them is present, but the setting is like a war zone and is not immediately conducive to romance. Fortunately, this is a romance novel, and where there is a will, there is a way! However, the best part about this book is the love story. It is a beautiful thing to behold! This book is a real page-turner, and my advice is to not have a lot going on Not quite hookup by catherine bybee tuebl you start reading.

A fabulous addition to an already great series! View all 6 comments. Jul 15, Jacob Proffitt rated it really liked it Shelves: This book is firmly part of a series and I wouldn't recommend reading it on its own. This is kind of sad because it's the best of them so far—much more heart and less predictable though still a touch formulaic. Monica has played a strong role from the beginning, so it's good to get her story, finally.

We know she's caring and has lots of love in her heart. I was interested to see what kind of guy would break through her shell This book is firmly part of a series and I wouldn't recommend reading it on its own. I was interested to see what kind of guy would break through her shell and reach her feels. And I wasn't disappointed. Trent is a little bit standard as romantic heroes go, though not offputtingly so. Yes, he's rich and successful but with plenty of time to devote to our over-scheduled heroine.

This is mitigated somewhat by the circumstances around their meeting as everybody is off their game and pressed for time. Bybee makes that chaos work and not in a cheesy or contrived way, either. I wasn't a fan of the great misunderstanding, Not quite hookup by catherine bybee tuebl have to admit. Trent seemed like a smarter guy and he'd already been stung once by that exact same overreaction, before.

And the tension with Monica's job didn't gel as well as I'd have liked. I mean, the motivations for the hospital didn't really align very well and the final reveal there was kind of hackneyed view spoiler [I mean, greedy corporation vs. Which all sounds like I didn't enjoy the book very much and nothing could be further from the truth. Monica is a gem and Trent is a sweatheart and the two of them together just made my heart swell. I wanted them to find their happily ever after and they were so cute getting there that all the rest simply fell away.
